Nine J&K candidates from Jammu & Kashmir qualifying Central Civil Services examination shows the capability and capacity of Jammu & Kashmir youth to achieve what they tend to achieve even in a scenario of economic stress and intensifying pandemic spread. Since the increasing no of qualifiers in UPSC’s Central Civil Service Examination from 2012 onwards is becoming a strong source of inspiration for youngsters in Jammu & Kashmir year after year, the journey of the J&K youth in the All India Services is likely to continue for years to come. Jammu & Kashmir youth are undoubtedly making a mark not only in UPSC’s Central Service Examination but also in other All India Service Examination like Indian Economic Service (IES) Examination, Indian Engineering Service Examination and Indian Forest Services Examination.  What matters the most is the fact that majority of the qualifiers of All India Services Examinations belonging diverse economic background don’t pursue coaching for such prestigious examinations in Delhi and other metropolitan cities of the country but they prefer self study and little bit of guidance from the experts of proven professional track records. Since the trends of guidance and coaching for All India Service Examinations particularly the UPSC’s Civil Service Examination are not as popular as they should have been in Jammu & Kashmir, some of the direct recruit local IAS and IPS officers are generous enough to guide and coach civil service aspirants in Jammu & Kashmir.  It would not be out of place to mention here that some local direct recruit IAS and IPS officers taking active part in the guidance and coaching of civil service aspirants in Jammu & Kashmir have played an instrumental role in raising the level of participation in the All India Service Examinations particularly UPSC’s Civil Service Examination. It is also a fact that volunteery initiatives of guiding and coaching civil service aspirants are unfortunately not growing the way they should have grown in Jammu & Kashmir.

For success in the civil service examination efforts have to be put on right path but directionless efforts are bound to go in vain . So finally cultivating the art of preparations for Civil Service Examination is key to success and as such aspirants have to take suggestions from experts’ right from planning to preparation to results. This is what most of the J&K civil servant aspirant have done and results speak themselves about their seriousness in planning and preparations for this prestigious All India Service Examination.

The initiatives of guiding and coaching civil servants if carried out with greater interest would surely show much better results in coming years. Many leading coaching experts of All India Service Examinations believe that coaching helps in channelizing efforts of candidates in the right way and is more advisable for those aspirants who are going to appear in these exams for the first time. It has been observed over the period of years that cracking civil service examination is not that difficult as the hype is created for it but irrefutable fact is that guidance and coaching improves the prospects of candidates in civil services examination. Even average competitor can crack this examination bout not without proper guidance and coaching. For success in the civil service examination efforts have to be put on right path but directionless efforts are bound to go in vain.
