Srinagar: Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) on Friday initiated dry ration Kits etc. distribution drive under Covid-19 Emergency Relief Response Initiative which was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Syed Hanief Balkhi.
According to a statement issued by the under the initiative free ration kits, medicines, catheters, diapers and Hygienic Napkins will be distributed among the needy and vulnerable population especially persons with disabilities of Jammu & Kashmir. These facilities will be made available to the beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
Dr. Syed Hanief Balkhi reiterated the need to encourage such initiatives so that downtrodden, needy and population living below the poverty line could be helped in this hour of need. He hailed and appreciated the role of Voluntary Medicare Society during the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and emphasized to continue such efforts for the betterment and welfare of humanity. Moreover, Additional Deputy Commissioner appreciated the services of VMS in creating awareness amoung common masses regarding ongoing Covid-19 and safety measures. Dr Mir Mohammad Maqbool President Voluntary Medicare Society said that these efforts can mitigate the sufferings of those in distress. He also said we need to make coordinated efforts to help those who are in need. He lauded the role of staff and management who tirelessly work for the well being and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
