DDC Srinagar reviews progress of works under District Capex Budget

Deadline set for completion of tendering, allotment of works

Srinagar: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned Officers here to review the progress of works taken under District Capex Budget of District Development Council, Block Development Council and PRI Grants for year 2021-22.
The meeting discussed the present status of the identified developmental works taken up under the District Capex Budget 2021-22 in all 21 Panchayats of Khonmoh, Qammarwari, Dara and Srinagar Blocks in Srinagar District besides reviewed the estimates submitted, tendering process and allotment of works targeted for completion in the current fiscal.
The DDC took a detailed review of each sector and asked the concerned officers to ensure 100 percent tendering and allotment of all approved/authorised works is completed within the next 10 days so that physical execution of works is undertaken as soon as possible.
While reviewing the Action Plan prepared to carry out the developmental works in all Panchayats of Srinagar district under District Capex Budget, the DDC asked the officers to reconcile the works nomenclature and check out any pendency in works and submit the pending estimates by September 23 for timely authorization.
He also directed for completing the tendering process of all developmental works by ending September, 2021 followed by allotment to ensure early execution and timely completion of all the developmental works.
The DDC directed the concerned Block Development Officers to ensure proper monitoring of tendering process, allotment of works and execution of works to achieve cent percent target. He directed the officers to work in coordinated manner with line departments and work with synergy to achieve development goals well in time keeping in view the working season.
Earlier, the Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar informed that total 310 works have been identified by concerned District Development Committees, Block Development Committees and other Panchayat Raj Institutions in the district out of which 266 works have been approved while estimates of 229 works have been submitted for which necessary Administrative Approval has been accorded.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, Superintendent Engineer O&M, KPDCL, Superintendent Engineer, PDD, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, District Panchayat Officer, District Floriculture Officer, Executive Engineers of Water Works Master Plan, Rural Water Supply and all Block Development Officers.
