Jammu: The Department of Political Science, Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar Tuesday organized an online symposium to mark the observance of World Peace Day 2021, under the banner of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The theme of Symposium was “Peace and Sustainable Development”. The programme was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Sangita Nagari, Principal of the college.
The Principal emphasised on the importance of peace in the 21st century and said it is the key component for sustainable development.
Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Charak, HoD presented a welcome address and highlighted the need for peace in the contemporary era.
Prof. Paramjeet Singh underlined the importance of positive peace for realization of sustainable development. The students of the Political Science department participated actively in the symposium. The students namely Gazalpreet Kour, Surbi Singh, Harneet Kour, Arushee Kotwal, Ujjwal Raina, Meliha, Shiv Shakti Sunaina also spoke on the occasion.
At the end of the symposium, the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. (Dr.) Harmeet Singh.
