Ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects: DDC Chairman B’pora

Says “will provide every possible support with public involvement”

Bandipora:The District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Bandipora, Abdul Gani Tuesday convened a meeting of officers to review and have first-hand appraisal of the developmental activities along with the status of ongoing projects.
The meeting was attended by Vice chairman DDC Bandipora, Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan, BDC Chairman, DDC and BDC members, District Officers of all line departments and representatives of Auxiliary agencies.
The meeting discussed in detail various projects undertaken by the PMGSY, R&B, PHE, Health Department, Rural Development and PDD.
The DDC Chairman took a comprehensive review on the progress of ongoing developmental projects and the representatives of Panchayat Raj viz BDCs and BDC members sought present status of all the ongoing projects.
Meeting was informed that PMGSY has completed works on Shari Hari Karan Gund road of 09 Km, Benlipora Halmutpora road of 3.5km and Mantrigam Bonakoot Road of 2.2km, over which DDC chairman praised the dedication of the Officers of PMGSY and allied departments for the completion of these ambitious roads.
Under PMGSY, 31 schemes are in progress and will be completed during the current financial year, added AEE PMGSY Firdous Ahmad. The R & B department has accomplished blacktopping of 37.23 Km out of the set target of 46.04 KM in Bandipora.
Two sub centers at Dardapora Arin and Ahamisharief have been handed over to the health department whereas work on 13 NTPHCs is under progress and is expected to be completed during the current financial year to boost the healthcare in the district.
Officers informed that 629 works have been completed so far in the district and the latest status report of works was presented before the public representatives of the district.
The ADDC, Ali Afsar sought details from the heads of departments and directed them to work in coordination for the realisation of the ongoing projects within the stipulated time frame. He urged the PHE department to ensure that every household is provided tap water facility through the Jal Jeevan Mission particularly in the far-flung areas of Kudara and adjoining areas.
It was given out that last year a record macadamization of 115 Kms was macadamized while this year the administration has set a target to macadamize 173 Kms out of which about 90 kilometers have been macadamized so far in Bandipora, Sumbal and Gurez.
The DDC Chairman stressed on the concerned agencies to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.
He said the elected representatives will provide every possible support as and when required with public involvement to the District Administration and line departments for the timely completion of ongoing projects.
The ADDC directed all the officers to keep a close liaison and coordination with PRIs (DDCs/BDCs/Sarpanchs/Panchs) so that a new system of implementation of developmental activities is ensured in a hassle free manner and people can realize the actual and intended benefits of work.
