Rich becoming the richer and poor the poorer even in the 21st century shows that people don’t get equal opportunities in education and employment in Jammu & Kashmir unlike other states and union territories of the country. Had the equal opportunities reached the people irrespective of religion, caste and creed, the poor won’t still become the poorer and rich the richer. Equal opportunities for all in education and employment has been reduced just to a slogan as the figures about literacy and employment in public sector indicate that economically weaker sections of the society(EWSs) don’t have as much access to education as they should have and consequently they also don’t get the share in government jobs they deserve. Though Jammu & Kashmir Government had last year said that the provision of reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir is available in jobs and admissions to Educational Institutions in Jammu & Kashmir on the pattern of Centre under Constitution (One Hundred and Third Amendment) Act, 2019, but still most of the children of economically weaker sections (WSs) of the society don’t have access even to android mobile phones and consequently they don’t have also access to hassle free high speed internet facility for becoming part of online education system in Jammu & Kashmir. In the times of covid stress the inaccessibility to online education system means almost denial of right to education for children of economically weaker sections of the society (EWSs). Unfortunately the disparity in accessibility to online education system is disturbing equally for both the children and as well as the adults of the economically weaker sections of the society (EWSs).
Reducing the disparity in accessibility of the children of economically weaker sections of the society to online educational system is the only way to further the causes of their participation in the recruitment of posts and services in Jammu & Kashmir Government.
Forget about the reservation in school admissions and government jobs the children of the economically weaker sections of the society don’t have access even to online education system which in the times of covid stress is as important for them as is the right to education. Loosing connection with the mainland educational system run in the times of covid stress through educational apps is giving thousands of children of economically weaker sections of Jammu & Kashmir sense of loosing the right to education. By all standards of understandabilities inaccessibility to online education system consequently deprives the children of economically weaker sections of Jammu & Kashmir of the right to employment because of their inabilities to fulfill the eligibilities set for competition for certain posts and services in Jammu & Kashmir Government. Reducing the disparity in accessibility of the children of economically weaker sections of the society to online educational system is the only way to further the causes of their participation in the recruitment of posts and services in Jammu & Kashmir Government.
