Pulwama: – A first of its kind, live surgery workshop was held at District Hospital Pulwama in which in laparoscopic surgery for hernia and Minimal invasive procedure for Piles was performed by Dr Akhter Ahmad Ganai, a renowned Minimal Access Surgeon of Kashmir.
Many surgeons working at DH Pulwama participated in the workshop.
The health workshop was organized by the health department Pulwama, providing all logistic support.
The procedures were demonstrated to the Surgeons from other hospitals of Directorate Health Services Kashmir where a live and interactive discussion and demonstration took place.
MIPH is a Minimal Access Procedure for piles which gives less Post Operative pain and patient is able to return to his routine work earlier. The workshop is a part of the policy of Directorate Health Services Kashmir to make all surgeons of the Directorate aware and train them to pass on the benefits of Minimal Access Surgery to the common masses of the state.
This initiative has been taken by the Directorate of health services under the leadership of Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather in order to make the expertise reach to each and every corner of Kashmir so that the poor patients in periphery get the benefits of minimal access surgery.
