DC Kupwara chairs public darbar at block Meelyal

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din Saturday visited block Meelyal and convened a public darbar at Boys High School Meelyal.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner asked the PRIs to utilize their resources in a fruitful manner so that people could get benefited at ground level. He advised them to go through the Panchayati Raj Act (PRA)and other relevant legislations so that they could perform upto the mark for the welfare of the people. The Deputy Commissioner assured them full cooperation in implementation of Panchayati legislations.
Regarding successful implementation of developmental works, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers for deseminating proper awareness among the PRIs for framing of estimates of the works.
Meanwhile officers from various departments provided awareness to the people about the schemes and achievements of their concerned departments.
Earlier, DDC Member, BDC Chairperson and other PRIs put forth their issues and demands of block Meelyal including establishment of fire and emergency service in the block, upgradation of Boys High School, uninterrupted supply of electricity during upcoming winter and concession of electricity dues etc.
DDC Kralpora, Advocate Masrat; BDC Chairperson, Fareed Ahmad Khan; block officers, representatives from different departments, besides, PRIs, senior citizens and general public attended the public darbar.
