Police facilitated drug de-addiction awareness rally in Budgam

Srinagar: Police in Budgam & civil administration in collaboration with NGO “Civil Society Forum Kashmir” today organised a bike rally to generate awareness about “drug abuse and its ill effects on society”.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shri Shahbaz Mirza-JKAS & SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS kick started a bike rally from DC office Budgam at 11 00 hrs. Other senior officers of Civil and Police departments were also present on the occasion.
The rally went through various parts of the district viz, Paller, main Budgam, Ompora, Narkara, Nasrullapora & Soibugh.
The aim of the bike rally was to spread awareness against drug abuse and its ill effects on the society.
Prior to the commencement of rally, officers held a detailed interaction with the participants. Scores of locals especially youth participated in the rally with enthusiasm and pledged to work with the administrations to make Budgam a drug free district. The bikers enroute distributed pamphlets and pasted banners at various locations with quoted appeal to the general public to stay away from drug menace and help the administration to build a healthy society.
General public applauded the role of Police/Civil administrations and suggested to conduct such seminars/rallies in future also so that the drug menace is curbed.
