Rajouri: As a part of the District Administration’s unique *Quami Bhavana*, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan visited BSF Sector Headquarters and stayed there for one night.
The Deputy Commissioner stayed one night with the Jawans and officers on the Campus and discussed various issues about security and the overall development of the district.
The DC also launched an institutional plantation drive at the BSF Campus in presence of DIG Sector Headquarters, DS Sandhu, Commandant 59 Battalion BSF, Rajinder Khardwal and other ranks.
In his address, the DC said that the green drive initiative will increase the forest cover of the district and also neutralize the effect of climate change and global warming.
He hailed the security forces for their patriotic spirit and invaluable contribution to the service of the Nation.
The officer urged upon the Jawans to keep working for the welfare of the society and assured all possible support from the District Administration in this connection.
Stressing on joining hands with the Army and Para-military establishments, the DC said that District Administration has planned a series of activities in collaboration with the BSF including veterinary camps, medical camps etc for the welfare of the community.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the activities being organised in the district as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He further informed that the District Administration has also finalized the arrangements for organising border Melas.
During his interaction with the retired BSF Jawans, the DC discussed their daily life requirements like better drinking water, health care facilities, bifurcation of land and other issues.
Many issues were redressed on the spot and the DC assured immediate redress of the remaining problems.
