Ensure CAB adoption, 100% vaccination of students/ staff in all colleges: Addl Comr to Principals

Srinagar:The three day sensitization programme on adoption of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and vaccination for college principals started Thursday at Amar Singh College, here.
The programme was organised by Divisional Covid Control Room Kashmir (DCCRK), under the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole.The programme shall be held in three segments viz. Central, North and South Kashmir separately.
Additional Commissioner (Addl Com) Kashmir, Abid Hussain Kira was chief guest on the occasion, while as Director Colleges Kashmir, Yasmeen Ashai presided over as Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Addl Com stressed on 100 percent vaccination of students and staff be carried out in all colleges of Kashmir as important to resume offline class work in all educational institutes.
He also emphasised on carrying out massive awareness on importance of CAB and vaccination among students to ensure strict compliance of Covid-19 related SOPs including wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing in all colleges.
Kira urged that NSS, NCC and other student clubs be utilized for education and communication for awareness generation.
He said that Covid-19 has thrown new challenges and adopting CAB and taking vaccine shots is the only way out for the safety of all staff and students.
During her keynote address, Yasmeen Ashai lauded the role played by Divisional Administration for enforcement of CAB and adopting zero tolerance against the violations of covid SOPs across Kashmir.
She said massive vaccination is going on in all colleges, while urging college staff to pursue all students with passionate counseling to them to take the shots as soon as possible.
She said resuming offline class work in colleges is important and preparations for it are going on across J&K, however, all measures including vaccination and adopting CAB have to be ensured by all means for safety of both staff and students.
Among others, Incharge DCCRK, Tahir Ahmad Magray, Principal Amar Singh College B.A Rather who presented a welcome address, all college Principals of Central Kashmir were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Rouf Hussain Rather, Dr. Umar Nazir from DCCRK deliberated on the theme thoroughly through power point presentation.
Dr. Shabnam Ara, Head Department of Sociology expressed her gratitude to all participants while presenting a vote of thanks.
