Rs. 1.17 lacs fine realized for violation of FSSAI norms at Budgam

Budgam: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam who is also Adjudication officer under the Provisions of FSSA imposed a penalty of Rs 1, 17,500 on various Food Business Operators (FBOs) of district Budgam for violating various provisions of Food Safety Standard Act 2006 Rules 2011.
The fine was imposed for sale of substandard, misbranded items, operating without valid registration and in unhygienic conditions in district Budgam.
During the trial, the Adjudication officer (ADC Budgam) directed Food business operators to strictly adhere to the provisions of Food safety and standard act and desist from any illegal act in future.
Meanwhile the Designated officer Food Safety Budgam, Yamen Ul Nabi has retreated to fully enforce the act on ground and warned that any violation from any FBOs violating any provisions of the FSSA will be dealt with strictly.
He directed that all FBOs shall comply with the rules and regulations laid down in the Food Safety and Standard Act.
