NIT Srinagar hosts special session on ‘Being Corporate Ready’

Srinagar: The Department of Training and Placements, National Institute of Technology (NIT) on Wednesday organized a virtual special lecture on ‘Being Corporate Ready, in which more than 150 students participated.
The virtual lecture was delivered by Vice President -Institutional Development, ITM Group of Institutions Prof. R S S Mani, who is also HRD specialist, mentor in the areas of education management, organizational behavior, and career guidance.
He spoke about the transition from college to corporate and gave a detailed account regarding how the students should approach the post-graduation life and the mindset for the same.
Prof. Mani advised students about how to appear in the interviews and placements. Many students interacted with the guest expert and had their queries answered.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal said the event was aimed to develop basic professional skills among the participants. He appreciated the department of placement and training for organizing sessions on relevant topics, which are the need of the hour.
Registrar NIT, Prof Kaiser Bukhari said these events are need of the hour and they will be organizing such events in the future also.
The event consisted of a 30-minute long lecture followed by a 45-minute Question/Answer session.
Head Training and Placement Officer and Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Obbu Chandra Sekhar said the virtual session was aimed at helping students to be ready to move from institutions to organizations.
Dr. Sekhar also briefed the participants about the T&P department and its future objectives. He also thanked the guest speaker and the organizers for conducting such an event.
Dr. Tahir Ahmed Wani, Associate Training and Placement Officer was the faculty coordinator of the event. He also talked about the different ways in which the students should approach life beyond college studies, and talked about the attitude required to be successful in it.
While a formal vote of thanks was presented by Syed Aga Hadi, who was the student coordinator and host of the event. He thanked the guests and participants. Hadi also spoke about the importance of such events and promised that such events will be conducted in the future also.
