Mega block devas held at Kulgam

Prog receives immense public response

Kulgam: The District Administration Kulgam, Wednesday, organized Mega Block Diwas in 3 blocks of the district to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands for redressal.
The programme received immense public response and officers and officials from line departments remained available at all three venues viz Kulgam, Devsar and D H Pora blocks of the district and listened to public issues, grievances and demands.
Meanwhile, to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, remained available at a grievance redressal camp held at mini-secretariat here and listened to grievances and issues of people for early redressal.
People from various areas including Qaimoo, Behibagh, Frisal, Ashthal, Khee Jogipora, Tengsergaam, Pombay, Yaripora, Ashmuji, Brinal Lamad, Boolso, Shurat, Parigam, Bugam, and other villages and areas apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various issues and put forth their demand for redressal.
Officers on spot responded to the queries and issues which were raised by people in presence of the Deputy Commissioner. Various issues were also redressed on spot by the Deputy Commissioner.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the main objective of the programme is to mitigate the problems and grievances of immediate nature.
He also directed the officers to adopt a prompt grievances redressal mechanism to ensure people do not suffer at any cost.
District Development Council member, Devsar, PRI members, ACD, ACR, CEO, CMO, Executive Engineers from R&B, Jal Shakti, Irrigation & Flood Control, Tehsildar Headquarter BDO and other officers attended the programme.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner kick started distribution of livestock among the beneficiaries of the District who were selected by the District level selection committee.
During the event, two units of 25 ewes each under ISDS (participatory mode) were distributed to two beneficiaries.
Besides one unit Of 100 ewes was provided to another beneficiary during the distribution camp.
Meanwhile, at block Devsar ADDC, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi and at Block D.H.Pora, ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather remained available for people and listened to their issues and grievances for redressal.
