Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Wednesday presided over the weekly block Diwas at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat here and listened to the issues and grievances of PRIs of Kangan and Gund blocks.
The program witnessed active participation from PRIs of these blocks who apprised the DC about grievances and developmental needs in their respective areas.
Raising issues relating to problems particularly development of existing roads, removal of illegal encroachments, augmentation of drinking water supply and electricity, the PRIs also demanded timely completion of ongoing works, better health care facilities and other facilities of public importance.
The DC gave patient hearing to the grievances raised and assured quality disposal of genuine issues in a time bound manner.
While interacting with the PRIs, the DC said that the main aim and objective of Block Diwas is to take a firsthand appraisal of all issues on spot and to ensure timely and quality disposal of the same.
Replying to the issues raised, the DC urged the PRIs to prioritize those works that have more impact on ground and asked them to play an effective role in supervision and monitoring of development works in their areas for their timely completion.
Earlier, the ADDC urged the PRIs to make people aware about various centrally sponsored welfare schemes meant for improving socio-economic conditions of the people especially living in far-flung areas of the district.
The Block Diwas was also attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Pir Muzafar and concerned BDOs.
