Rajouri admin hosting 5 day trekking expedition to Shakkermarg, 7 lakes in Girgin valley

Rajouri: District Administration Rajouri is going to host a 5 day trekking expedition to Shakkermarg and seven lakes in Girgin valley in a bid to promote adventure tourism in the district.
Around hundred trekkers including locals, from other districts of Jammu and Kashmir and from outside J&K are expected to participate in the expedition.
The trekking expedition would commence on September 14 from the base camp at Buddh Khanari (Dahral) and culminate on 18th September at Kharimarg. Three cultural troupes will also move with the trekkers for recreational purposes.
To discuss and finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the trekking expedition, District Development Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan Saturday convened a meeting with the concerned officers here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow.
DDC Member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayoom Mir; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ACP, Abdul Rashid; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Tehsildar Darhal, Mumtaz Mirza; Tehsildar Thanamandi, Sahil Ali; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed besides other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the objective of the expedition is to promote national integration and a spirit of adventure and awareness about the environment and local flora and fauna among the youth.
The District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officers to ensure maximum participation of the trekkers in the expedition and make sure that all the required facilities are provided to the participants during their expedition.
The CEO RDA was asked to complete the registration of participants within three days, while the Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy a team of doctors and paramedical staff and ensure that all the Medicare facilities are made available for the trekkers during their journey.
The Police Department was also asked to deploy personnel for the foolproof security of the participants.
