Rajouri : As part of the Quami Bhavana initiative and in continuation of the go green drive, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan Saturday visited Army Campus Palma.
Quami Bhavna is a unique initiative of the District Administration wherein the District Magistrate visits the remote locations and interacts with Army personnel, officers and stays with them to discuss the peace and development interventions.
Continuing this initiative, the Deputy Commissioner spent one night with the army Jawans and officers at Army Campus Palma and discussed varied issues.
The officer appreciated the army for their concern towards saving and increasing the precious green wealth in the district and urged upon them to continue such efforts in the larger public interest.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the initiative will increase the forest cover of the district and will also prove helpful in mitigating the ill effects of climate change and global warming.
The Deputy Commissioner said that deforestation is a worrying concern and bringing more and more people together to grow and save forests for our present and future generations is the need of the hour.
He also appreciated the role of the Army in remaining shoulder to shoulder with the District Administration for the peace and development of the region. He thanked the GOC, Major General, Jatindra and his team for all necessary backup in this Quami Bhavna initiative and hoped that it will continue further in near future in the larger good of everyone.
About 1000 plants of different species are intended to be planted in the Campus and surrounding area.
He said that the District Administration will continue such initiatives to strengthen the civil-military liaison for the peace and overall development of the district.
It is pertinent to mention here that so far the District Collector has visited 33 RR Lam; 72 CRPF Battalion Sunderbani and Bhadoon unit.
