Jammu : Assistant Commissioner General, Rakesh Dubey Saturday chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements for establishment of animal shelters to be managed by Society for Prevention of Cruelty on Animals (SPCA).
Vice President SPCA Devinder Kour; GM FECCOS Anil Gaind; DPO Sunaina Saini besides senior officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held regarding fundraising for SPCA, water boring and piped water connection along with electricity supply to animal shelters, installation of signboard of SPCA, planting of fruit and fodder plants, registration of horses and mules tagged and vaccinated by SPCA, engagement and training of border area youths as paravets to assist with SPCA Hospital, NGO and Goushalla under BADP and membership charges were discussed in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that the charges of membership forms for animal lovers to become members has been fixed at 1200 per year and the membership fees would be deposited in the account of SPCA.
It was also decided the officers from all the concerned departments shall visit Chowadi where the animal shelters for animals would be established. A plantation drive will also be launched at animal shelter places by planting fruit and fodder plants.
The ACG asked the concerned officials to ensure the proper arrangements of water and power at animal shelters for animals.
The Vice Chairman SPCA informed that the charges/fees which will be deposited in the account of SPCA will be used for the bringing up of the facilities to take care of the abandoned and injured animals.
