Jammu: PC & PNDT Act DAC approves registration of 6 private ultrasound diagnostic centers

Jammu: The District Advisory Committee (DAC) Jammu on PC PNDT Act, 94 Tuesday approved registration of 6 new private ultrasound diagnostic facilities at its meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Satish Sharma, here at the DC Office.
During the meeting, opinion and advice of all the committee members were sought in detail for new registration and renewal of registration of various private ultrasound clinics.
The case files of private ultrasound diagnostic facilities were recommended by the Inspection Committee for registration under PC PNDT Act, 94 and Rules.
The committee also approved two cases of renewal of registration which were further sent for approval of the Chairperson of DAC (Deputy Commissioner).
The ADC instructed the concerned officers to keep vigil on private ultrasound centres to check any violations of the PC & PNDT Act.
Satish Sharma also asked the CMO to ensure private centres prominently display the rate list for various diagnostic tests and warning against sex determination in at least three languages with pictorial signs. He asked for enhanced vigil on the clinics and to undertake regular inspections of their facilities.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, J P Singh; Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Dr. Indra Bhatyal; Pediatrician, Dr. Mahesh Chander Gupta; Gynecologist, Dr. Naresh Khajuria; Arti Khurana Consultant Radiologist Jourian, Dr. Ayushi NGO member, Information Assistant Natyapal Singh and other concerned officers.
