Srinagar: ppealing to people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the younger generation to take up sports, Union Territory (UT) Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said sports has an indispensable role in the overall physical and mental development of youth.
Meanwhile Mr Sinha congratulated Bhavina Patel on winning the Silver medal in Tokyo Paralympics. Splendid performance! The whole nation salutes your sportsmanship and determination, he said.
“Greeting to all on the national sports day and tributes to legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary” Mr Sinha said in a message.
An inspirational personified, Major Dhyan Chand’s great achievement and sporting skills continue to inspire future generation, he said.
On the occasion I appeal to the people of J&K , especially younger generation to take up sports and make it an integral part of their lifestyle and contribute towards a healthier nation, Lt Governor said.
Sports has a indispensable role in the overall physical and mental development of our youth. This human development activity inculcates team spirit, cooperation and a sense of prosperous and healthy nation.
The sports culture in J&K has taken a leap with a new spirit of enthusiasm and the government is committed to promoting sports and making it an essential element of the overall development agenda.
