DDC Bla inspects GDC Boniyar, takes stock of construction work

DC Bhupinder also met PRIs, listened to their grievances, demands

Baramulla: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar Thursday paid visit to Boniyar area of the district where he took stock of the construction of Govt Degree College Boniyar besides taking first hand appraisal of various related aspects.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed that the college is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1392.26 lacs and the work on several components viz excavation soil work, laying of soiling, mud-mate, RCC raft, plinth beam etc, have been completed. It was further informed that the date of completion of Phase-1 has been set as October 2021.
Meanwhile, Prof (Dr) Tariq Hussain Bhat briefed the DDC that presently 250 students have so far been enrolled for which temporary arrangements have been made. He added that classrooms have been equipped with smart technological equipment which enable the students to get education via modern means and methods.
After taking a comprehensive review, the DDC emphasized upon the concerned authorities to strictly abide by the set timeline adding that any kind of laxity will not be tolerated. He directed to ramp up the pace of work and mobilize all the available resources so that work is completed well within the stipulated time frame.
Kumar also inspected PHC Boniyar where he took appraisal of medicare and other health services being provided to the patients.
The DDC on the occasion interacted with the patients and enquired about the same during which he emphasized upon the concerned authorities to provide efficient and qualitative health services. He also stressed to follow appropriate COVID behavior (CAB) in letter and spirit besides terming it vital for averting future exigencies.
The DDC during the visit was accompanied by Joint Director Planning, M.Yousuf Rather, SDM Uri Harvinder Singh and other concerned functionaries
Later, the DDC met delegations of PRIs who appraised him about their grievances and demands pertaining to overall welfare and development of the society.
The demands which were raised by the PRIs include macadamization of roads, establishment of fire service station in Boniyar, development of play ground, construction of office complexes besides extending various other demands of vital public significance.
The DDC gave a patient hearing of all the grievances and assured that all the genuine demands shall be redressed in a time bound manner.
He said that various developmental works have been taken in different sectors aimed to ensure that fruits of development percolate at ground level.
Moreover, Kumar issued on spot directions to several concerned officers with regard to redressal of some of the grievances.
