Srinagar: Police in Budgam facilitated an interactive meeting with media fraternity of district Budgam. The meeting was chaired by SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem Khan at District Police Headquarters Budgam.
Senior officers of Police including DySP Hqrs, DySP PC Chadoora, Dy SP PC Budgam and Dy SP DAR also attended the interactive meeting. The meeting was attended by the different media persons associated with different print and electronic media of District Budgam.
On the occasion, several issues related to day-to-day policing were discussed and all the participants called for further strengthening the relations between police and media. Media fraternity members also put forth a series of suggestions of public importance and chairing officer assured to take all these on priority.
SSP Budgam highlighted the importance and role of media in a democratic setup by describing media as an important pillar of democracy. While appreciating their role, he called for a mutual coordination with regard to reformation of society by eradicating social evils from the society. He also assured the media persons that all the issues discussed in the meeting will be taken care of at the earliest and enjoined upon them to imbibe professional value and be committed for the welfare of public.
The participated media persons assured their full cooperation to police and also appreciated the efforts of police in facilitating such interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely.
