Jammu: An online poster-making competition on the recent advances in the field of science was Saturday organized here by the Bio-Science club of Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur stressed on the importance of organizing the events which help the students to relate to the environment, local as well as global, and appreciate the issues at the interface of science, technology and society.
These events help to nurture curiosity, aesthetic sense and creativity among the students and help them to become good teachers. The students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm.
The competition was judged by Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Dr. Deep Bangotra and Dr. Anuradha Seth.
Riya Sharma of B.Ed. 2nd semester from GCOE was judged first, Priya Devi and Ritu Sharma of B.Ed. semester 2 shared the 2nd position and Pushpa Basnet of B.Ed.-M.Ed. integrated semester 2 from School of Teacher Education bagged the third position.
Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Convener of the Bio-Science club thanked the students for their active participation and also lauded the efforts of the organizing committee, Diksha Sharma, Saksham Maria and Sheetal Bhat for their efforts to organizing the event.
