DC Shopian tours extensively Pinjoora, Trenz, Pahnoo & Sedow, holds public interaction prog

Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Pinjoora, Trenz, Pahnoo, Sedow villages of the district and held public interactions to listen to public issues, grievances and demands at their door-steps.
During the tour, the DC visited Sedow and other adjoining habitations of tribal community in the area and interacted with people besides inspecting ongoing Public Works and reviewing the developmental activities taking place in the area especially road connectivity, availability of potable water, leveling and fencing of Ziyarat Shariefs, playfields, graveyards, repair of link roads etc.
He also reviewed the infrastructure available in the schools, besides inspecting other health and educational institutions.
Dozens of delegations including members of Panchayat Raj Institutions, Numberdars besides, scores of individuals called on the DC and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life including road connectivity, lack of staff, Health care centers, up-gradation of roads, construction of paths and culverts, availability of safe drinking water, augmentation of power infrastructure etc.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the delegations, he passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances, while several committees and joint teams were constituted to resolve other issues.
He said the schemes once completed will mitigate the drinking water issues in the said areas.
Vaishya directed the concerned for ensuring quality work and maintaining appropriate width on PMGSY roads of the areas. He also directed Tehsildar concerned to demarcate the spots.
While interacting with the people, the DC appealed to people to adopt Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) at all public places including all religious and social gatherings. He instructed Health and Revenue Officers to strictly monitor covid guidelines besides testing at all gatherings.
Later, Vaishya paid a surprise inspection of Govt. Primary Health Centre, Sedow and took stock of its functioning. He assured of providing every possible assistance to mitigate the problems being faced by the Hospital Authorities.
The DC also inspected ongoing construction work of the pond at Sedow and directed the concerned for its early completion.
The DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, Tehsildar, Shopian, Block Development Officer Shopian, Block Development Officer, Kanjiullar and other officers of the district.
