DDC Chairman, DC Jammu review functioning of Rural Dev Deptt

Jammu: Chairman, District Development Council Jammu, Bharat Bhushan in presence of Deputy Development Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg Friday reviewed the functioning of Rural Development Department at Panchayat level here at a meeting of members of DDC and RDD officers, here at DC Office.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Romesh Chander besides the senior functionaries of RDD department attended the meeting.
During threadbare discussions, the DDC members highlighted various issues being faced in the execution of developmental works in their respective areas. They demanded rationalization of distribution of mining blocks and close check on black marketing so that the construction material can be available easily for the ongoing development works for timely completion.
They also demanded that the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) be identified by the Gram Sabha only so that the no deserving person was devoid of benefits of the schemes. They also said that the identification process in the gram sabha should be videographed.
The DDC members also demanded rationalization of the capex budget so that each Panchayat gets uniform funds.
On the occasion, the Chairman DDC, Jammu gave due consideration to the demands and suggestions of the DDC members regarding development of their respect areas in Panchayat blocks.
The Deputy Commissioner Jammu also assured the DDC members that the government was committed to resolve all genuine issues highlighted by them in the meeting and issued on the spot directions to the concerned departments. He directed the concerned authorities of the Rural Development Department to maintain close coordination with the DDC members and incorporate their views while executing development works in their Panchayats for the larger public interest.
The meeting was also informed that the next Public hearing Camp of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu will be held at Sumah Block Akhnoor.
Later, the meeting took pledge to mark Sadbhavna Diwas’. DDC Chairman, DDC Members, Deputy Commissioner, ADDC and other senior officers of RDD department and DC office took the pledge to work for National Integration and work selflessly for the people of J&K.
