DC Kulgam extensively tours far-flung areas of DH Pora

DC Bilal also holds public grievance redressal camps, inspects dev works

Kulgam: To review developmental activities and to get first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Wednesday visited far flung areas of D.H. Pora including Nandimarg, Yarikhah and other far-off places.
During the visit, a grievance redressal camp was held at D.H.Pora in which various public deputations from Ahmadabad, Laisoo, D.H.Pora, Koursarbal, Yadikha and adjoining villages besides many locals and PRI members called upon the DC and raised their demands and issues.
The issues raised by the deputations and individuals include opening of Bank Branch at Ahmadabad, construction of Playfields at various Panchayats, completion of Water Supply Schemes at Nagam and other Villages, construction of Flood protection bund on Vishav Nallah at Laisoo, workshop for repairing of Transformers in the area.
Regarding the demand for play fields, the DC directed Revenue and RDD to identify land and construct play fields in every panchayat.
While addressing the people, Dr Bilal said that the Government has started the Jal Jeevan Mission under which drinking water facility will be provided to all uncovered areas.
He also gave patient hearing to demands raised by people and directed concerned officers to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of the issues raised during the camp.
The DC assured that all issues within his competence will be redressed as early as possible whereas the other all genuine demands will be taken up at appropriate forums for their resolution.
Later, the DC visited Nandimarg where locals raised demand for construction and macadamisation of several roads, construction of school building, completion of water supply schemes, PHC Nandimarg, opening of Bank branch at Nandimarg.
He also took stock of progress on Nandimarg-Gool Gulabgarh road and directed the R&B department to expedite the pace of work.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by ACD, ACR, SDM, Tehsildar, BDO and other officers.
