Advisor Khan holds public grievances redressal camp; takes stock of people’s issues

Jammu: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, Wednesday convened a public grievances camp at Convention Center, Canal Road, Jammu.
Several delegations and individuals met the Advisor and projected their grievances regarding civic amenities, education, road connectivity, health and related sectors seeking his intervention in redressal of the same.
Most of the delegations raised their concern over encroachment of state land particularly water bodies in their respective areas.
Advisor assured them that necessary directions will be issued to the concerned authorities for removal of such encroachments besides conservation of water bodies.
A delegation of Rotary club demanded conduct of a hockey tournament at Jammu.
A delegation from Qadurpur, R S Pura, raised their concern regarding construction of a community hall in their area.
A deputation of farmers raised issues regarding sale of their agriculture produce especially Basmati.
Advisor suggested farmers to get organized and undertake Cluster and Cooperative farming to achieve highest market value.
Several delegations of ST communities also put forth their issues including augmentation of roads, water supply and up gradation of schools.
A delegation from Rajbagh, Kathua, urged for utilization of local ground as mini stadium to promote sports and games in the area. They also demanded regularization of land allotted in the refugees basti.
Meanwhile, several individuals requested for early payment of their due compensation/relief to be provided by the concerned departments.
Other issues raised during the camp pertained to power sector, education, PHE and Irrigation, Social Welfare Department, Health, Industries, roads, drains, schools and other public utilities.
Representatives of various panchayats also approached the Advisor with their issues regarding development of their respective panchayats.
Responding to the delegations and individuals, Advisor assured that all their grievances and demands raised at the public hearing would be looked into for an early redressal.
