Red Ribbon Club GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu organises slogan competition on TB awareness

Jammu: The Red Ribbon Club of Government P.G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar in association with J&K AIDS control society, H&ME Department, Jammu, organised an intra-college promotional slogan writing contest as a part of TB Awareness Campaign under the patronage of the Principal, Dr. Sangita Nagari.
This Awareness campaign was organised as part of the implementation plan for New India @ 75. Students of the college actively participated in the event and prepared slogans on TB awareness. The criterion was one slogan per student. The participants were judged by Dr Surjeet Kour Head, Department of Punjabi and Neelam Bhagat Associate Professor, Department of Home Science. Shazia Ashraf Naik student of 2nd semester clinched first position. Jasmeen Kour, 2nd semester secured second position and third position was bagged by Shallu Devi Jasrotia student of 4th semester from GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 respectively.
Only self-made slogans were entertained and the copied slogans were rejected as was already mentioned. Students prepared very good and impressive slogans for the TB awareness campaign.
Principal of the college, Dr. Sangita Nagari appreciated the efforts of all the participants and emphasized the need of organizing more such campaigns to educate the masses about TB.
The event was organized by Prof. Revika Arora, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club and co-ordinated by members of Red Ribbon club Prof. Neelima, Prof. Manmeet, Prof. Abhinav, Prof. Ambica, Prof. Kusum and student committee Ivanka Raman, student Nodal head and Shalini Rasgotra, community head.
