Educational institutions celebrate 75th Independence Day with fervour, patriotic spirit in Jammu region

Jammu: The Educational Institutions marked the celebration of 75th Independence Day by holding series of activities including Flag Hoisting and cultural programs based on the theme of Indian Freedom struggle and patriotism.
GDC Sunderbani : Government Degree College Sunderbani celebrated the 75th Independence Day in the College with great Zeal & Enthusiasm. Principal, staff members and Students of NCC, NSS and EBSB Clubs participated in the function. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vinod Kumar Behnal unfurled the National Flag along with the Principal of the College. The Principal of the College addressed the gathering & highlighted the sacrifices of the Freedom Fighters & advised the Students to play their active role in the development and prosperity of the Country. Some Staff members & Students also spoke on the occasion. The Principal also gave away Prizes to the students who participated in the week long activities (Plantation Drive, Poster Making Competition, cleanliness drive and Symposium Competition under the banner observing Swachta Pakhwada, Quiz Competition, Vaccination Drive, etc) organized by the College.
GHSS Jullaka Mohalla: To mark 75 Years of India’s Independence, staff and students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Jullaka Mohalla hoisted tricolour in the school premises and celebrated the occasion with fanfare. Principal of the School, Razia Begum presided over the function. School children presented a colourful cultural programme and recited patriotic songs. The speakers informed the gathering about importance of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ stating that it’s an initiative of the union government to commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. Later sweets were distributed amongst children and staff who had decorated the entire school premises to mark the occassion of India’s Independence Day.
Govt Industrial Training Institute: The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated on 15th August, 2021 in the premises of the Government Industrial Training Institute, Akhnoor Road, Jammu. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National flag by Director Skill Development, (J&K), Sudershan Kumar in presence of Joint Director Skill Development, Jammu, F. A. Khan; Dy. Director SPIU / Principal Sr. Scale ITI Jammu, Rajendra Kumar; Dy. Director Planning, Baru Ji; Mandeep Dogra (ADT); Rajesh Banotra (Vice Principal, ITI Jammu); Vivek Sagar -Supdt. WITI Jammu; Mudassir Ji (IOT) and Nazir Ahmed, President J&K ITI employees united front. Director Skill Development hoisted the tricolor National flag after inspecting the guard of honor by the NCC cadets of this institute which was followed by National Anthem and salute in the presence of officers/ staff members. During the event, the Director Skill Development along with other higher officers and in presence of all the faculty members launched the Inspirational video song “JAAG JAO”. The lyrics of the song have been written/composed by Rajesh Banotra (Vice- Principal) of this institute for admission awareness campaign and to inculcate self employment opportunities among trainees.
Polytechnic College Kathua: Government Polytechnic College Kathua celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on the college campus. Principal of the college, Er Arun Bangotra hoisted the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem. In his address, Er Arun threw light on the significance of the Great Fay. All the staff members and students participated in the function. Certificates were presented to the students who participated in the 75th Independence Day week-long celebration under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- including Poster Making Competition, Patriotic Video making, Essay Writing competition, Quiz competition, Plantation Drive and Swacchta Pakhwada. All the competitions were organized by a team of faculty comprising, Rishabh Gupta, Vishal Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Munish Sharma, Rajesh Kumar,. Shamsher Chand and Ravinder Kumar. The sweets were distributed among all the students and staff members.
