Shopian: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers and bankers to review the Employment Generation Status under various self employment Dastaq schemes, a noble initiative by District Administration to involve and motivate more and more unemployed educated youth for establishing self-employment generation units in the district.
It was informed in the meeting that 2000 unemployed youth have been identified and registered for establishing their self-Employment income generaring units under different schemes in various line departments and also a target of 5000 unemployed educated youth are expected to be registered this year to enable them to establish their own income generating units.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the line departments and bankers to work in tandem and coordination and ensure that the targets fixed already are achieved well in time.
The DDC took strong note of pendency in some institutions and asked them to improve their performance for which he gave a timeline for achievement of targets and stressed upon them to visit them at their door-steps to make them aware about the Cetrally-sponsored scheme like mumkin scheme etc.
He asked the Lead District Manager for early disbursement of financial assistance for establishment of self-employment schemes under various line departments of the district.
Vaishya also asked concerned officers to submit the progress regarding sanction and disbursement of cases in the shortest possible time in this regard.
He said that self- employment is the basic element under which the primary sector of the economy viz allied sectors could get a boost.
He also called upon the educated unemployed youth of the district Shopian to come forward to take advantage of the schemes meant for self employment.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Yousuf, Chief Planning Officer, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, General Manager DIC, Tanveer Ahmad, Tehsildars, Lead District Manager, G.M.Dar and others concerned were present on the occasion.
