DIC Jammu holds road show, sanitation drive at Industrial Estate Aknoor

Local youth encouraged to establish ventures in MSME Sector under PMEGP

Jammu: To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amurit Mahostav”, District Industries Centre, Jammu organized a Sanitation Drive at Akhnoor Industrial Estate and a Road Show in the area to motivate the youths for establishing their ventures in MSME Sector by availing benefits of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
The road show and sanitation drive was organized under the directions of Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce Ranjan Prakash Thakur and supervision of Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu Anoo Malhotra, by Subah Mehta, General Manager District Industries Center Jammu.
The staff of DIC Jammu conducted the sanitation drive in and around one of the oldest Industrial Estate of Jammu i.e. at Industrial Estate, Akhnoor. Thereafter, the teams of officers highlighted the various schemes, incentives being extended by the J&K and Central Government under which the existing as well as new units can drive various benefits. It was also highlighted that the existing units can also avail the benefits under substantial expansion. The features of new Industrial Policy 2021 and the importance of Green Environment were also highlighted. Saplings were planted in the Industrial Estate as well as in the premises of Industrial Unites.
During the road-show in the main bazaar of the Akhnoor, the officials highlighted various incentives provided under self-employment schemes .The unemployed youths were asked to avail the loan facility under the ‘Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme’ for the establishment of Service & Industrial ventures to become job creators instead of job seekers. The general public was also requested to recycle and reuse the plastic.
The sanitation drive was organized in collaboration with the President, Industrial Association, Akhnoor Lakhbir Singh, Romesh Sharma, Kuldeep Kour, Neeraj Jain and other Association members.
At conclusion of the event, National Flags , Jute Bags, Pamphlets etc. were also distributed among the participants i.e. Association Members and Civil defense persons.
