Plantation drive conducted across 59 Treasuries of Jammu Province

Jammu:Department of Accounts & Treasuries (Finance Dept) Friday conducted plantation drives across all 59 Treasuries of Jammu Division under the Go Green Campaign.
The plantation drive was held under the supervision of Director Accounts & Treasuries, Jammu, Neeraj Gupta Bakshi, under the guidance of Director General Accounts & Treasuries, Finance Department, J&K Mahesh Dass.
The Jammu chapter was organized at the Government Ranbir Hr. Sec. School. Anudeep Kaur Soodan, CAO DGAT was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General Accounts & Treasuries, Finance Department said “In the blind race of development, we forget the mantra of our culture that nature is our mother and it cannot be exploited.” He said it is the foremost duty of every individual to preserve, conserve and keep the environment clean and green. The Director General Accounts & Treasuries appreciated the efforts of the Director Accounts & Treasuries, Jammu/Treasury Officers in organizing such events and emphasized that we will continue to organize such activities in future also so as to contribute in maintaining ecological balance and conserving the environment.
The Director Accounts and Treasuries, Jammu thanked DG Accounts & Treasuries and Director General Codes for sparing his valuable time and gracing the occasion. The DAT emphasised the importance of planting trees and asked them to be ‘Tree Warriors’ and sensitize the people around them to plant atleast one sapling in order to increase Green cover.
A unique formula 10 on 10 was introduced and conveyed by the Director Accounts & Treasuries under which every Treasury Officer across the Jammu Province will plant 10 saplings on 10th of every month religiously in the premises of the Treasury office thereby contributing towards the growth of Mother Nature. She exhorted the Treasury Officers to be active in public domain and participate in social and philanthropic activities.
Ashok Kumar Khajuria, Saddar Treasury Officer, Jammu presented the vote of thanks.
