Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: GDC Chatroo hosts Online Singing Competition

Kishtawar: In connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the nationwide celebrations being held to commemorate India’s 75 years of Independence, Government Degree College Chatroo Friday hosted a Virtual Patriotic singing, dancing and painting competitions as a part of week-long activities being organised by the College.
All the events are being held under the overall supervision and guidance of Incharge Principal of the College Dr. Ashaq Hussain.
The students of College enthusiastically participated in the different competitions as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The Singing and dancing competition inspired the young singers and dancers to come forward and sing on a virtual platform. The students came up with different songs on the Patriotism theme and sang with full passion, confidence and patriotic fervour.
The students also showcased their art in the painting competition and prepared different paintings of National freedom fighters and on the theme of National integration.
The events were coordinated by Dr. Jamsheed Ahmed, while Dr. Jaswant Singh, Dr. Mudassir and Prof. Chander Parkash acted as Jury members for singing and dancing competitions.
In singing competition, Mohammad Owase of 4th Semester bagged 1st Position, the second position was shared by Nissar Ahmed and Sania Mehboob Malik and the third position went to Raj Kumar, while Sangeeta Devi of 1st Semester was awarded Special Prize in singing competition.
In dancing and painting competitions it was again Sangeeta Devi of semester 1st who bagged 1st Position, while Saniya Tabassum of 1st semester secured 2nd position in painting competition. Prof. Ajeet Kumar, Prof. Cherring Durjee and Prof. Waseem Rashid acted as judges for the painting competition. The Incharge Principal of the College Dr. Ashaq Hussain congratulated the winners, appreciated and applauded the performances of the participants and the feeling of patriotism and respect for the motherland.
