Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Friday said that it has arrested six persons & seized six vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said that officers from Police Station Khansahib on Friday arrested six persons & seized six vehicles (Tippers) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay at Samsan Waterihail.
Stating that the accused have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Bhat son of Noor Mohammad Bhat, Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar and Mohammad Shahid Ganie son of Ab Ahad all residents of Sholipora and Bilal Ahmed Mir son of Ab Rashid Mir resident of Jawalapora and Riyaz Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir, Javiad Ahmed Chopan son of Mohammad Shuban Chopan both residents of Hardiwael, the police in the above quoted statement further said that the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
In the concluded para of its above referred statement police also said that, a case vide FIR No. 194/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation have been initiated.
