Inter zone distt level volleyball tourney held at Ramban

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Thursday inaugurated Inter Zone District Level Under-19 Volleyball tournament here at Government Girls Middle School Maitra.
The sports event was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports is being held under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence.
The team of Gool zone clinched the winner trophy while Ukhral Zone claimed runner –up trophy.
Nearly 60 Players from six zones including Banihal, Khari, Ukhral, Ramban, Gool and Batote participated in the tournament.
On the occasion, the DC interacted with participants and advised them to actively participate in the sports activities for their all-round development besides wishing them all the best for the games.
The DC said that the aim of conducting these sports competitions is to channelize the energy of the youth in a positive direction, enhance sportsmanship and boost their competitive skills and mental health.
He asked the sportspersons to follow Covid SOPs to avoid COVID-19 infection while taking part in sports competitions.
The tournament was held under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Dharam Vir Singh.
