Jammu: A plantation drive was organized Thursday here at Government Girls High School Gandhinagar to infuse awareness about the environment among the masses in general and students in particular. The event was organized by the Directorate of School Education under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ being celebrated to commemorate the 75th years of India’s Independence Day.
Chief Education Officer Jammu, Suraj Singh Rathore, was the chief guest, while Deputy CEO, Davinder Singh Manhas was the guest of honour.
The CEO stressed on the importance of planting trees to safeguard the environment for a clean and healthy future.
Veena Tikoo, Zonal Education Officer, Gandhinagar; Kiore Sharma, Principal HSS Bhalwal; Daran Sharma(Lecturer); Narinder Singh Chib (Lecturer) and Gane Khajuria, I/C Headmaster GGHS Gandhi Nagar were also present.
