Ajas: Army has opened up a full fledged adventure nod at Ajas on the demand of local youth in Ajas area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, officials said.
“Inauguration by Mohammad Faisal Rather, international player in martial arts prompted lots of young and budding youth to participate in the event and learn about Mountaineering Equipments, Tent Pitching, Survival, First Aid and River Crossing”, said the officials.
Stating that initially four batches were sent by Ajas camp for understanding the actual need of locals, the officials said “with high response and enthusiasm shown by people of the area the army camp Ajas opened a Full Fledge Adventure Node”. Claiming that “lot of excitement and enthusiasm was seen among locals at Ajas and nearby areas,” the officials further said “approximately 70 people attended the inauguration function and people were happy to see it as an opportunity to boost tourism and create employment in the areas”, stating therein further that “adventure Node that aims to provide opportunities to locals as well as tourists to learn professional trekking, adventure and survival techniques”. Officials also said that at the end locals of Ajas area were made aware about COVID Pandemic and masks were distributed.
Ajas is located in north Kashmir surrounded by mountains in the East, river Jhelum in the west and Wular lake in the north which makes it an ideal place to travel and do adventure activities. Every year a lot of local groups go up for trekking and requested company commander to help them into professional learning of the trek.
