KMAS organised dusk to dawn Sufi Majlis, Speakers discuss role of Sufism in materialistic world

Chrar i Sharif(Budgam): Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-Saqafat organised a multicoloured sintitilating literally event comprising Mehfil-e-Sama, Mehfile Mushaira and discussion on Sufi mystic poetry. Prominent writer and poet of sub continent,Prof. Mohd. Zaman Azurda was Chief guest.

Popular singer of Jammu and Kashmir Manzoor Shah was the star attraction of the event who mismerised the audience by presenting heart touching songs comprising both Sufi Islamic devotional music, classical music and kashmiri folk songs. His energetic musical performance of Sufi mystic poetry lead the listeners to a state of spiritual ecstasy. The Mehfil-e- Sama lasted up to dawn and cuminated after delivering an inspirational Sufi message of love, co-existence and compassion. Prof. Shad Ramzan and Mohd Amin Bhat, President Adbi Markaz Kamraz were guests of honour. They presented an over view of Sufi mystic poetry with focus on its relevance in the present day materialistic world. They highlighted contribution of Amir Khusraw, Maulana Rūmī and Ḥāfeẓ, to the Sufi cult and their impact on the kashmiri mystic poetry.
Inayat Gul ,Secretary KMAS also dwelt on the evolution and significance of kashmiri Sufi poetry. During the night long cultural event, a multilingual Mehfile Mushaira was also conducted. The poets who recited thier poems included Ali Ahsan, Gh Rasool Sadoori, Showkat Firar, Younis Waleed.
