Comr Secy GAD visits Kathua, reviews dev scenario

Kathua: Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, who is also Incharge Administrative Secretary for development works of Kathua district, held a meeting of district administration to review the progress made under different development schemes being implemented in the District here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
At the outset, District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, presented Physical and financial achievements registered under different sectors through various schemes and programmes for current fiscal.
While presenting the performance under current District Capex budget, DDC informed the meeting that out of total outlay of Rs 620 cr, 141cr has been made available so far and out of total 2909 works proposed, administrative approval has been accorded to 854 works so far.
DDC informed that against the target of 265 schemes under PMGSY in Kathua and Basholi Divisions, works on 167 schemes has been completed in which 389 uncovered habitations have been connected. Under MGNREGA against the target of 2.38 lakh man days 105% of the given target was achieved in the current fiscal besides timely payment is at 75.59%.
While explaining the status of languishing projects scheme in the district, DDC informed that out of 100 projects identified, 50 works have been completed and work on another 38 such projects is in progress.
The DDC said Kathua district has achieved distinction in Agriculture sector as record procurement has been done by the department in both Kharif-2020 and Rabi 2020-21 crops. He said Kathua district Ranked 1st in J&K for procuring 2.41 lakh quintals of paddy crop and 1.16 lakh quintals of wheat crop on MSP from farmers. District has also registered remarkable performance in PMKISAN registration and 100% KCC coverage.
The DDC also presented the status of major development assets viz Ujh Multipurpose Project, Industrial Biotech Park, Medical college beside projects taken up under PWD, JKPCC including projects under languishing projects scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi asked the concerned officers and executing agencies to gear up the pace of work on all the projects and ensure the completion of ongoing works within given time frame.
While appreciating the district administration for performing with distinction in some sectors, Dwivedi also impressed upon the field functionaries to remove any bottlenecks for achieving desired development targets.
He called upon the officers to mark few days for field visit and be accessible to people to get their valuable feedback and make effort to redress their genuine grievances with compassion in time bound manner.
The Commissioner Secretary calls for observing zero tolerance against mismanagement and corrupt practices besides laid emphasis on brining transparency in the working of government offices.
While referring to the circular instructions of the government for hoisting of national flag at all government offices, the Commissioner Secretary called upon the officers to ensure compliance of the instructions in letter and spirit.
