Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. PiyushSingla Friday said that Covid Situation has improved significantly with recovery rate going upwards to 98.5 percent and positivity rate dropping to 0.05 percent for last 07 days. The DC cautioned that the Pandemic is not over yet, maintaining vaccination and Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) are absolutely vital to prevent another wave.
Advising people not to lower the guard against the virus, the DC said it is responsibility of every person to observe Covid SOPs and deny the virus even the slightest of chances to re-emerge again.
Dr. Singla made these remarks while briefing on COVID-19 scenario and the measures taken by the district to address the situation that arose due to its 2nd wave.
Apprising about the ongoing vaccination programme, the DC said that the inoculation drives for immunising the population with 2nd dose are going across the district.
Dr. Singla informed enforcement teams are imposing fines on Covid SOP violators and ensuring the observance of CAB at markets, public parks, tourist sites and other potential crowded places. He appealed people to stick to Covid SOPs adding those become paramount during the current unlock phase when chances of exposure to virus are highest.
The DC said the aggressive testing has helped in controlling the spread of virus in the district.
The DC stressed on all stakeholders to keep supporting the administration in its endeavour to contain the pandemic efficiently.
