DC Shopian conducts day-long extensive tour of Zainapora

Shopian: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Thursday conducted a day-long tour of Sub division Zainapora, Shopian and took stock of various developmental works being executed by various agencies there.
During the tour, the DDC visited Turkawangam, Chitragam, Sugan, Heff Shirmal, Awneera, Krala Check, Cheki Bala, Aglar Chirath and various other places.
On the occasion, the DDC inspected various ongoing developmental activities including, Widening and Macadamization of roads, Shifting of damaged electric poles, proper drainage system, construction of lanes and by-lanes.
Sachin directed Assistant Executive Engineer (R&B) to expedite their men and machinery to complete all the ongoing developmental works on priority basis within stipulated time frame.
He cautioned the concerned Engineer against any laxity towards quality and timely completion of these developmental works of vital significance. He took stock of the measures put in place by the R&B, RDD, PDD and PHE departments to complete the developmental works within the shortest period of time.
At the outset, the concerned Engineer gave a detailed report regarding projects under construction and the measures taken to complete them within a fixed timeframe.
Sachin directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on these projects/widening and macadamization for their timely completion so that tangible results are achieved on the ground. He also instructed them to complete the pending formalities, if any, and said that there will be no excuse in timely completion of work projects.
During the visit, different delegations of various areas met the DDC and raised issues like scarcity of potable drinking water facility, fencing of playing fields, uninterrupted power supply etc. He listened to their demands patiently and assured that their genuine problems would be looked into and redressed at an earliest.
DDC directed all the Engineers and officers to work with added dedication, zest and zeal and leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the demands of the general public who have great expectations with the District Administration. He also sought people’s cooperation and support.
During the tour, the DDC had an interaction with the various deputations to have a first-hand appraisal of the working of various departments as per the aspirations of the people of these areas.
In another development, the DDC surveyed a few places for providing playing fields for the sports activities of the youth to involve them in sports activities to get rid of the drug addiction and other social evils.
At Zainapora, Sachin directed the concerned Tehsildars for distribution of 15 Sports Kits, 5 for each village among the Cricket, Volleyball and Football players of these villages and also distributed sports kits on the spot.
Sachin further inspected Tehsil Office, Chitragam and Tehsil Social Welfare Office, Chitragam and enquired about the registration and distribution of Income Certificates RBA, Sehat Cards and Golden Cards. He was assured that the registration and distribution process of all kinds of Certificates is going on smoothly and are also issued to the beneficiaries of the concerned areas on due date.
The DDC also inspected the on-going Macadamization process of Zainapora Bijbehara road and exhorted for completion of the said work at an earliest to facilitate the general people. He visited Aglar Chirath and inspected Common Facility Centre (CFC) Aglar, Government Higher Secondary School, Aglar, Zone Imam Sahib and issued orders for providing 5 Computers for the School and directed Headmaster to ensure attendance of teachers in the School.
Later, the DDC paid a surprise visit to Sub District Hospital Zainapora and inspected various sections of the hospital, including Gynae Ward, OPD and other sections.
He interacted with the patients and enquired about the health facilities being provided by the hospital administration to them. He directed the concerned for repairing of the blocked drainage system of the sub district hospital by tomorrow positively to facilitate the patients as well as attendants.
During the visit the DDC was accompanied by Tehsildars of Zainapora, Chitragam, Assistant Executive Engineer of R&B, BDOs of Chitragam, Zainapora and other district officers.
