Uri: Army forever remains deeply committed to provide suitable opportunities to the youth and women of Kashmir to showcase their sporting talent, duly overcoming the geographical challenges in far flung areas along the LoC, officials said on Wednesday.
Stating that nurturing young male and female sports enthusiasts inhabiting the remote villages of Pir Panjal has always been considered a mission, so as to infuse positive energy in the youth as well as to ensure their overall growth, officials further said that in continuation to it’s endeavors army in a joint effort with Awaam and Civil Administration organised first of its kind Badminton Tournament for the Daughters of Boniyar (Baramulla).
Saying that “ Olympics fervour having now transcended to the zenith owing to sterling performance of National Athletes, seemed to have transpired into the youth of Boniyar, wherein 32 girls from various schools of Boniyar participated in the event conducted from 02 to 04 Aug”, the official also said “ the sporting prowess displayed during duels on the Badminton court mesmerised the spectators, who were awestruck watching the skills and technique displayed by players”.
Expressing sense of elation to have unearthed the raw talent in Boniyar, the parents, school staff called the event to be an achievement for the people of the area. The official also said “ the support and enthusiasm displayed by people definitely propelled the players to perform the official call it Dawn of a New Era, a significant change in Kashmir which the people are is rejoicing and celebrating while they remain confident of more glory for daughters of Kashmir in days to come”.
