DC Budgam holds Awaami Darbaar in far flung areas of distt

DC Mirza visits Shalnar, Freswar, Lanilab, instructs all line departments to resolve grievances and ensure better governance

Budgam: Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza wednesday held a daylong public outreach programme in far flung areas of District to have on spot interaction with public and redress grievances at grass root level in concerned areas.
During his visit, the DC interacted with the public who have assembled from Freswar, Shalnar, Lanilab and adjacent areas. At the outset, the DC stressed upon adherence to all mandated COVID-19 SOPs to stop spread of Covid-19 pandemic. The DC appealed to the public to get vaccinated and continue wearing face masks till covid crisis is over. The DC exhorted upon all line departments to continue awareness programmes at grass root level regarding various schemes and services being implemented for welfare of the public in the District.
The Department of Agriculture and allied departments like Horticulture, Floriculture Animal/sheep husbandry shall hold joint awareness camp at Shalnar and Freswar on 7th of this month and disseminate information about the schemes and benefits available for the public, the DC instructed.
He said that new Rural Development works under MGNREGA, 14th F.C shall be taken up to ensure development of areas and give boost to economic upliftment of beneficiaries. The DC also directed the concerned department to construct bandhs and walls wherever required to avert any kind of disaster in landslide prone areas.
Upon the Financial inclusion, the DC said that all banking and insurance services shall be ensured in the area and in this connection, Banking correspondents working in the area shall bring the left out population under the ambit of PM Jan Dhan Yojna. Similarly, the CSC centers along with the social welfare department has to ensure Aadhar enrollment of left out children and other age group categories.
The DC was apprised in the program that under Mission Youth Scheme, MUMKIN and TEJASWANI an innovative ideas to give boost to self employment, awareness is being created among aspiring youth about the benefits of these schemes. The DC urged the public to stress upon conservation of water and preservation of springs while taking up any Agricultural activity.
The public gathering was also addressed by XEN PHE who informed the public about the procedure to get water connection under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The DC also instructed XEN PDD to replace damaged poles and wires wherever necessitated.
Later on DC also inspected the internal link roads of the area and directed the XEN R&B & PMGSY to improve the condition of roads wherever deteriorated in condition. The DC further inspected Higher Secondary school at Shalnar and checked the attendance of staff and took stock of cleanliness of school premises.
The DC took an opportunity to inform the public about the Integrated Village Development Programme under which 4 village have been identified including shalnar, Freswar and Lanilab. All the concerned departments including PHE, RDD, R&B, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/sheep husbandry, Fisheries, Banking sector, telecom operator BSNL, NRLM, social welfare shall visit the area and frame an Action plan regarding the socio-economic development of these villages.
During the outreach programme, the public raised some demands like construction and repairing of roads at Mujhpatri, Arizal and replacement of leaking pipes at some places, staff and medicines availability at Mujhpatri hospital, Aadhar enrollment, issuance of Golden cards, collection and disposal of garbage.
The DC gave a patient hearing to all individuals and groups and issued on spot institutions about the resolution of grievances and assured the public that all genuine demands shall be looked into.
The DC was accompanied by DDC member Khansahib Bashir Ahmad Bhat, GM DIC, CPO, SDM Khansahib, ACD, XENs PDD, PHE, R&B and other District officers and officials concerned.
