Srinagar/ Aug,4 : J&K Students Association on Wednesday urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to revoke the recent advisory of not providing passport and employment clearance to youth who has been allegedly involved in law and order, stone pelting cases. In a Statement, National Spokesperson of the association Nasir Khuehami requested Sinha to rescind the recent circular so as not to create any impediments for the youth who were allegedly involved in stone pelting incidents as many of them are now studying and employed in different fields.
He said, the need of time is to not create any hassles in the path of thousands of Kashmiri youth who are now in Jobs and study fields but were in past allegedly involved in such activities. We need to welcome the transitions of these into mainstream rather than punish them for turning into good path added that it will push the youth into further alienation, he said. He appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha not to bar those youth who are now in different study fields and left these activities. We need to appreciate their shift rather than punish them for noble. As the constitutional values of the country appreciate positive reformation, it is dire need that the recent circular of not providing Govt jobs or passport clearance to youth who were involved in law and order, stone pelting or any other crime prejudicial incidents, should not include those youth or students who have changed for good, he said.  Khuehami said that for betterment of Kashmir, youth and student community are its pillars and we have to value them. There seems to be no wisdom in denying passport and jobs to those who have shun the such path for leading a peaceful life, he added.
National General Secretary of Association Danish Lone also appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to reconsider the circular for denial of security clearance required for government jobs, passports and government schemes, of a person. There are myriad of people who were involved in the such activities, but have now forsworn, he added.  Hence, this circular may stand in way for such people who had abjured or want to
abjure aforementioned activities. We beseech you to relook the circular because at this juncture of time, we need rehabilitation not discord, we need rapprochement and not estrangement. We should not only own those who are ready to come back to mainstream, but furnish ways for those who in future will go along with the same path, he added.
