Rajouri: Sunderbani Forest Range conducted a plantation drive at Govt Higher Secondary School Bajabain.
Additional Deputy Development Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Singh Parihar, started the drive by planting a ceremonial plant of Peacon nut in the school premises. Arun Sharma, BDC chairman Sunderbani along with Lok Nath Sarpanch also participated in the drive.
About 20 Sarpanches and Panches from the adjoining Panchayats participated in the drive. Rakesh Verma, Range Officer Sunderbani, while addressing the participants threw light on the importance of Institutional plantation.
The ADDC Rajouri said such plantation drives have an impact on micro climate of the area.
Arun Sharma, BDC Chairman, while presenting vote of thanks, said that the One Beat Guard One Village Programm,e launched by Forest department is highly appreciable.
Horticulture Development officer Sunderbani provided plants of Peacon nut to the locals and advised the participants to come forward for horticulture plantation.
Raman Kumar Block Development officer Sunder bani made all the arrangements of the plantation drive. Dr. Devinder Jandiyal, Agriculture Extension officer Sunderbani and other line departments also participated in the drive.
The whole drive was conducted under the direct supervision of B. Mohandas, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Suresh Manda, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera.
