Two suspects in Army uniforms spotted in Jammu, searches launched

Jammu: Ahead of second anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir’s bifurcation and amid frequent drone spotting incidents, two suspects wearing army uniforms were spotted at Mangal Market near the Railway station in Jammu on Monday forcing the security agencies to announce a high alert.
Officials said the suspects managed to flee after the army personnel, who was present in the nearby barber shop, asked them questions about unit and identity.
Kewal Kumar, the local barber, said that two suspects in army uniform had come to his shop and asked for trimming of bread.
“Coincidently, an army soldier was present at the shop, who started questioning the duo about their unit etc. He also asked them to show identity cards, but both suspects ran away,” an official said. A police official said that the police have now launched a search operation and are trying to ascertain the identity of the suspects. Meanwhile, security agencies have sounded a high alert in the area and all police stations and army units have been directed to maintain a tight vigil on suspects
