Multiple progs to mark celebration of I-Day, 221 at Ang: Addl. DC

Anantnag: To discuss the arrangements for carrying out various activities in the run up to the ensuing 75th Independence Day celebrations, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers, here.
At the outset, the ADC said this year’s Independence Day marks a special occasion in the country’s history as the nation is celebrating 75 years of freedom. He elaborated a detailed schedule under which multiple programmes will be held across the district as part of the celebrations.
On the occasion, explicit directions were passed to the concerned officers for ensuring smooth conduct of their respective tasks ahead of Independence Day.
The ADC directed for conducting special cleanliness and sanitation drives in all Panchayat Halqas, Municipal Wards with focus on schools, panchayat ghars, health institutions, water bodies as part of ongoing Safai Abhiyan (Swachhta Pakhwada) with due participation of all stakeholders especially the youngsters.
He also directed the concerned officers to submit lists of Covid warriors, who have done exemplary work during the pandemic, adding that sportspersons and budding artists who have earned name and fame for the district be also recommended for awards of citations.
The ADC directed the DYSSO to conduct singing competitions on nationalist themes in all zones, adding that the best would be suitably awarded.
Stressing on showcasing good work of the administration, the ADC enjoined upon the officers to get at least one freshly completed work inaugurated on the eve of Independence Day. He said the government has brought revolutionary changes in e-governance with a host of services available online. Such public friendly initiatives need to be properly propagated, he maintained.
He said the Revenue services provided online need proper publicity for promoting transparency in the system.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, CEO MCA (SDM Bijbehara), CEO, CMO, EO MC Achabal (Tehsildar Anantnag), DYSSO, BDOs, EOs of MCs, ZEOs besides other officers.
