Drug peddler arrested in Ang; Huge quantity of contraband substance recovered : Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Saturday police said “ Police Station Mattan received a specific information through reliable sources informing therein that one person namely Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo resident of Mattipora Nanil has indulged in peddling of narcotic substances and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
Stating that on receipt of this information, a team comprising of DySP Hqrs Anantnag, SHO Mattan and Executive Magistrate raided the specific house and recovered 45 Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said house, police in it’s statement further said that the accused person have been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In concluded para of it’s above referred statement police also said that case vide FIR No.79/2021under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Mattan and further investigation is in progress.
