Srinagar: DDC Member Syedpora-Harwan and Apni Party leader Shabir Reshi on Saturday urged the administration to construct new government schools and a degree college in Harwan area of district Srinagar.
According to a statement issued by J&K Apni Party on Saturday, Reshi said that Harwan lacks in basic educational facilities due to which students have to travel to far off areas for getting admission in various educational institutions.
“It’s highly regrettable that our students have to face immense difficulties in absence of requisite educational facilities which further adds to the economic burdens on their families. Thus, it’s essential that new schools and a degree college be constructed in the area so that the students are allowed to get hassle-free education in their local zones,” he said.
Reshi also pointed out the dilapidated condition of the roads while demanding its immediate macadamization so that the locals have to face no further inconvenience.
“The condition of roads in Harwan is extremely deplorable with potholes everywhere that often thwarts the smooth running of transportation. Besides macadamization of these roads, the administration must upgrade the road connectivity in the adjoining areas of Harwan in order to provide relief to the daily commuters who would afterwards travel without any trouble,” he demanded.
Speaking over the construction of NTPHC building in Syedpora-Harwan, Reshi said that currently the NTPHC facility is functioning in a single rented room that’s only adding more to the miseries of the patients in the area.
“We have already identified the required chunk of land for the construction of much needed NTPHC in the area and I firmly believe that the government will reciprocate with this pressing demand of the people that will act as a panacea for them and everyone will be able to get treated in this medical facility,” he remarked
