Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla Friday inaugurated SAKOON Application and its Dashboard, developed for disbursement of timely assistance to calamity hit victims under SDRF, at DC office here.
This is one more step taken by the district administration for delivering public services through online mode which is in tune with the LGs Administration that places maximum thrust on digital governance. Before this, the district developed the Sahooliyat Portal and Dashboard for delivering Legal Heir Certificate to the beneficiaries through online mode.
The idea for SAKOON Application was concieved by the DC and it has been developed by National Informatics Centre, Anantnag under his guidance.
District Informatics Officer, NIC, Jan Mubarak informed that the app has been developed for the officials and various steps right from making initial reports by Patwari/ Girdawar upto to the approval by the DC for a particular calamity will be done through online mode under the app.
It was further given out that the system has a provision for sending the case details back to the subordinate official with attached remarks in case a discrepancy is noticed or some query arises.
Cases can be properly tracked with dashboards at the disposal of the patwaris/ girdawars, tehsildars, SDMs, ACR, ADC and the Deputy Commissioner besides the provision of lateral entries for recording damages of multiple nature is also there.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said providing public services through online mode is the future of governance and the district is making rapid strides in this regard.
Dr. Singla lauded the efforts of NIC and asked the concerned officers to make the process smooth and easy for enhancing the overall quality of service delivery.
Terming the initiative “another milestone” for the district with regard to e-governance, the DC said the system will be gradually upgraded and inclusion of other services is in pipeline.
Earlier, the district administration had organised detailed training sessions for the officials regarding use and operationalisation of the app in the field.
ADCs, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh and Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, ACR, Syed Yasir, Tehsildar Anantnag, Umar Gulzar and other officers also attended the inauguration function.
